Alina Bliumis (USA), «Pink and Pong»

Alina Blumis's works combine traditional painting and the contemporary video and animation technology.
Executed in acryl and oil, canvases constitute the ground for her short animation films, this being the implementation of the «painting-in-motion» technique designed to create an alternative of the detached manufacturability of video clips of the MTV generation.
In the film «Pink and Pong», oil painting not only provides rich texture but also recreates the realism of traditional two-dimensional picture, which happens to be so rare nowadays.
In this way, it competes with the 3-D film technology of the contemporary video.
