Andrei Khlobystin
was born in Leningrad in 1961.
An artist, art critic, dancer.

In 1977 he graduated from the Art School no.1 in the Dzerzhinsky district, and in 1983 — from St Petersburg University, department of art history. In 1985 he was one the founders of the Leningrad Club of art critics, the first independent organization of art critics in the USSR. He is one of the first art critics examining independent art. He is the author of numerous works on art history, organizer of various conferences and exhibitions of contemporary art. Since 1987 he has displayed his works as a member of the New Artists Group. A member of «НЧ/ВЧ», «The Club of Mayakovsky„s friends\\\\", senior assistant at «The new Academy of Fine Arts». Has took part in over 100 exhibitions all over the world. Since childhood has taken part in archeological expeditions in the Far North, Siberia, Asia and Europe. He also worked in the Manиge Central Exhibition Hall, as the head of section at the Lower Park in Peterhof, as a librarian at the Hermitage, taught history of arts in the Herzen University. Since 1993 — the publisher of the magazine «Art Will», newspapers «Susanin 2003» and «The Genius». Director of the Archives of Independent Art at the Partnership «Free Culture» (10 Pushkinskaya).
