I was born in St Petersburg. I graduated from the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (department of theory and history of arts) in 1985. I started working as an exhibition methodologist (curator) in the Directorate of Exhibitions held by the Union of Artists in 1978. I took part in the preparations of exhibitions of the works by N. Altman, N.P. Akimov, Ruvim frumak, G.P. Yegoshin, V.I. Tyulenev, Z.P. Arshakuni, A.M. Ignatiev and others. Then I worked as an assistant to the Board and the head of the department of painting at the Union of Artists. Since 1991 I have been working in the Committee of Culture at the Administration of St Petersburg, I am the chief curator of matters related to the contemporary art. I am a member of the Regional Council of decorative and applied art and vernacular arts and crafts. A member of the purchasing commission established to acquire objects of cultural heritage for museums of St Petersburg.
